Pete is a leading physiotherapist within elite sport who's worked with the senior England rugby league team and Red Bull athletes participating in sports including downhill mountain biking, Moto GP and BASE jumping.
I began my coaching career at Bolton Wanderers FC as a sports scientist, after completing a BSC in Sports and Exercise Science. I then moved to Liverpool FC as a fitness coach, working with their U18 team. I was also studying part-time for a BSc in Physiotherapy and once I’d completed my degree, my next move was into Rugby League with Widnes Vikings RLFC.
I spent three years with Widnes Vikings, first as assistant physiotherapist, and then as head physiotherapist, when I’d gained my MSc in Sports Physiotherapist at Bath University. My role as head physio involved managing the assessment of injuries and the delivery of treatment and rehabilitation – for both the club’s first team and academy teams.
During this time, I also worked as a physiotherapist for the senior England rugby league team and did consultancy work, including supporting Red Bull athletes participating in sports such as downhill mountain biking, Moto GP and BASE jumping.
I joined GCP in January 2019 and head up the delivery of rehabilitation services for the PFA and elite athletes at St George’s Park. My beliefs are firmly centred around providing the best possible care for people from all walks of life. Giving people access to the same level of support as elite sportspeople is something that I’m hugely passionate about.
When we introduce one of our expert coaches into someone’s life we begin to build a meaningful relationship they stretches way beyond talking about fitness.
We hear about when they are not sleeping well, not feeling great or when they feel they like are performing poorly at work.
We are asked for advice regarding mental fitness, healthy eating, dietary requirements, sleep and nutrition. Our aim is to become a core and trusted part of our clients daily life.
